Kauai Day 2

Hello Everyone,
So here's all the pictures from the second day of our trip to Kauai. Sunday morning we had to get up early to pack and get to the helicopter place. We quick ran to Burger King for breakfast. We made it to Blue Hawaiian Helicopter check in and got all checked in. We watched the safety video and then headed out to the helipad.

Tami and I were really excited as we waiting to get on the helicopter.
All buckled in and ready to go.
Jameson and Tami were all ready too.
Barb and Aunt Sandy sat in the front with Pilot Josh.
There are many helicopter companies that do tours around the island. I think there were 4 or 5 other ones there that day.
Off we go. This is the Lihue airport.
The views were just amazing.

This was the first waterfall we saw and it happens to be the one used in Jurassic Park.
This house belongs to the Robinsons that own part of this island and all of Ni'ihau which is the island just north of this island.
Waimea Canyon from the air.

This is Hanalei Bay. You can see the differences in the water color with the reef below it.
One of many rainbows we saw. (Its in the lower right corner.)

Going into the wettest place in the world, Mt. Waialeale.

Our helicopter and Pilot Josh.
The island of Ni'ihau is on the other side of that tree/bush. The outline goes out to the right.
Another picture of Ni'ihau.
First view of Waimea Canyon.
A little stream through the red dirt...only here in Hawaii.

Waimea Canyon = The Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

4000 feet to the top and this is what we could see. Nothing...but its all good because it was fun getting there.

As we were standing at the top the fog started rolling in so we could see less and less.
Roosters are the official bird and alarm clock of Kauai.
After leaving Waimea Canyon we stopped at the Waimea Brewpub so Jameson could try some Hawaiian beers. After that we went back to Hanapepe to try Lappert's ice cream. Its made in Kauai so we of course had to try it.
This was across the road from Spouting Horn which is where we went after ice cream.
The blowhole called Spouting Horn.
While we were there we saw a couple sea turtles in the water.

On our way back to Lihue we drove through the Tree Tunnel. The road is lined with Eucalpytus trees.

This is Tami and I hanging out in the airport ready to head back to Honolulu. Such a fun but much needed trip to another island. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Sending you warm wishes and aloha kisses.
